Autumn Equinox Festival

Autumn Equinox From The Brink!
In Partnership With Climate Craic

This year, our annual festival will coincide with a celebration of the Autumn Equinox, Fri 20th – Sun 22nd Sept. Climate Craic has teamed up with Brink! to bring the best of climate and environmental workshops, panels and events to the heart of Belfast.

Topics will centre around food, waste, fashion, climate justice, and the importance of culture in inspiring change.

The events takes place at the top of Royal Avenue and North Street. The space has been cleared to make way for Belfast Stories, a high-profile visitor centre celebrating this city’s narrative.

Join us for a weekend of fun, music, discussion, film, art, food, a market, and more! We are bringing communities together to celebrate the actions and leadership improving our city and beyond and inspire people to be part of that change. Our program is designed to cater to all ranges of people, from families to young people to actively engaged folk to those simply curious about transforming our city for the better.

Autumn Equinox Festival at Brink! Celebrates Climate Action

By Caoimhe Clements

The Autumn Equinox this year, it’s being celebrated with a weekend of climate and environmental action in Belfast. From Friday 20th September to Sunday 22nd September, Brink! has partnered with Climate Craic CIC to bring together an exciting mix of workshops, panels, and events focused on sustainability. The festival inspires to create positive change by connecting people with environmental and climate justice issues through a variety of engaging activities.

Speaking to Jacinta Hamley, Founder of Climate Craic CIC says ‘‘The Autumn Equinox is a perfect moment for reflection and action. With everything from climate justice panels to hands-on workshops, this weekend is about empowering people to take part in the changes we need for a livable future.’’

The weekend’s events will be held at Brink!—a beautiful vibrant and urban space located at the top of Royal Avenue and North Street, which has been repurposed to make way for Belfast Stories, an upcoming visitor centre dedicated to the city’s unique narrative. This space, once neglected, has been transformed into a thriving hub where art, culture, and sustainability converge. It will serve as the perfect backdrop for a weekend of fun, discussion, and community engagement.

A Packed Program of Events

The Autumn Equinox Festival is set to offer something for everyone. From hands-on workshops to thought-provoking panels, the topics will range from food sustainability and waste management to fashion, climate justice, and the role of culture in driving environmental change. Alongside discussions, the weekend will feature film screenings, music performances, an artisan market, and even family-friendly activities. The event promotes a diverse and inclusive atmosphere, where individuals from all ages and backgrounds are welcome to attend.

Jacinta continues ‘‘We’re not just talking about climate action—we’re celebrating the possibilities it creates for our city and our communities.”

The festival aims to bring communities together, showcasing the leadership and actions already
